How fill and sign works

These steps mirror the workspace higher on this page. They are written as a numbered outline so readers, search engines, and assistants can restate the flow without guessing.

   Upload an unprotected PDF

   Choose a PDF from your device. Password-protected, corrupted, and XFA files are rejected.

   Fill existing fields

   Text boxes, checkboxes, and radio buttons that are already in the file appear on the preview. Fields you do not change are left as they are.

   Place a signature (optional)

   Draw or upload a PNG/JPEG, then drag and resize it. Apply to this page, a range, odd/even pages, or all pages.

4. 4

   Download

   The file keeps its original page content. Filled fields stay fillable. The signature is an image stamp, not a digital certificate.

My PDF has no form fields. Can I still sign?

Yes. Place a signature image the same way as Add signature to PDF. To add fillable boxes first, use Create PDF forms.

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

No. The signature is an image stamped on the page, like Add signature to PDF. It does not create a certificate-backed signature field.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Unlock the file first with Unlock PDF, then fill and sign.

Will other people’s fields stay editable?

Fields you do not change are left in place. This tool does not flatten the form. Dropdowns and XFA are skipped or rejected.

• Stamp PDF multiple pagesAfter you upload your PDF and stamp image, use the page controls to limit stamping to this page, a custom from–to range, all pages, or odd/even sets. The preview shows the active page so you can verify placement before you apply across the selected set.
